New York School Achieves Playful, Urban Design
LONG ISLAND CITY, N.Y. — New York-based Gran Kriegel Associates designed a new PK-8 school in Long Island City. Its playful design and kid-friendly scale gives students a more welcoming setting amid an urban backdrop.


SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — When it opens in the fall of 2015, Springfield’s Sherwood Elementary will likely set the standard for new school construction in the city. Designed in a flexible and energy-efficient manner, the school will also be the first in the district to house a local chapter of the Boys & Girls Club.
INDIANAPOLIS — Stanley Security has named Faith Christian Academy in Sellersville, Penn. as the grand prizewinner in its school safety grant program.
Milo Riverso, Ph.D., P.E., CMM, has been named the 2014 recipient of Manhattan College’s De La Salle Medal, which honors those that embody excellence, leadership and service to society. Riverso received his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Manhattan College, and is currently president and CEO of STV Group, Inc, one of the nation’s largest engineering and architectural planning, design and construction management firms.
