Stand-Alone Outdoor Locker Facility Nears Completion

INDIANAPOLIS-The new outdoor locker room facility will be ready for the start of fall football and track team practice at Center Grove High School in Greenwood.

Stocker Construction Co. is the general contractor responsible for building the new 15,000-square-foot outdoor locker room. The architect is InterDesign Total Architecture.

“This is a state-of-the-art facility,” says project manager Rich Moreland of Stocker Construction. “There are custom-wood lockers and carpeting in this freestanding facility.” This is an extremely nice facility for a high school, he says. The $2.5 million outdoor facility, sited next to the football stadium, will provide not only locker rooms, but also meeting rooms and office space for the growing sports department at the high school. The one-story facility features a block exterior with wood trusses supporting an asphalt roof. In previous years, both space and safety issues were at the forefront in the demands to build a new facility. With a multitude of athletes in the same locker room at the same time, coaches were unable to keep watch over their athletes. New locker room space for both the home and visiting teams alleviates concerns over visiting teams being forced to walk through crowds of Center Grove students.

Subcontractors include Crider & Crider Inc., site preparation; Milesco, masonry; Sun Electric, electrical; and Accu-temp, mechanical/HVAC.
