Room Dividers Create Classrooms

Lake Zurich, Ill.-Hurricanes Charley, Frances, Ivan and tropical storm Bonnie all ravaged Florida in August and September of 2004. The storms severely damaged homes, businesses, and schools. Parts of some schools were damaged to the point of being unusable.

Soon after the storms subsided and the work of getting electricity restored, streets cleared and other repairs were completed, school administrators of Forest Hill High School began the chore of reopening their facilities.

Administrators contacted John Gifford of Tri Gold associates who suggested Screenflex Portable Room Dividers. After measuring the open spaces, Gifford contacted Dan Cornell, Graphics Coordinator with Screenflex. Cornell prepared 2D and 3D plans based upon the specific spaces and needs of each school. Using the GIZA space planning software, the space plans were sent to Gifford, who presented them to the school officials. The plans were approved and several Screenflex Portable Room Dividers were ordered for each school. The units were built, shipped, delivered and in use within days.

Once repairs are completed and the need for these classrooms has passed, officials said that the schools will use the room dividers for a variety of programs and, since the units are portable and flexible, they can be moved to satisfy space dividing needs in other schools within the district.
