Stella Koop, AIA, LEED AP, was named director of the K-12 education practice at Wight & Company, an integrated architecture, engineering and construction company based in Darien, Ill. She has worked at the firm since 2006 and most recently served as project manager.


 


Albert Mark, AIA, LEED AP, was hired as project executive for the firm’s Chicago office. He has worked as an architect with the City of Chicago for 29 years.


 


California-based HMC Architects appointed Pasqual Gutierrez, AIA, director of architecture. Pasqual also serves as director for the AIA California Council and he serves on the board of directors for the California Architects Board.


 


Kingscott Associates, and educational design firm based in Michigan, named Heidi Pfannes, NCIDQ, LEED AP, marketing director. She has worked at the firm 22 years, serving as an interior designer and working in marketing-business development.


 


KKS Architects, a firm based in Princeton, N.J., that plans and designs educational facilities, promoted Merilee Meacock and Scot Murdock to principal and named Andrew Tucker director of sustainable design.


 


Newton Chase was named managing principal of HDR’s architectural office in San Francisco. He was most recently healthcare principal for the firm’s international design studio.


 


Gregory Monberg, AIA, REFP, LEED AP, a project designer, and Dorine A. Vogel, PHR, chief human resources officer, were promoted to principal at Fanning Howey, a national school architectural firm based in Ohio. Former Butler University football coach Kenneth J. LaRose was hired as client liaison and community engagement specialist.


 


Milwaukee-based Eppstein Uhen Architects named Kit Dailey public information specialist for the firm’s public buildings studio. She has more than 15 years of experience and has worked with school districts, technical colleges and other municipalities.


 


Cannon Design, an international architectural, engineering and planning firm, announced that Martha Ball was named associate principal. She is the science and technology leader at the firm’s Los Angeles office.


 


SchnkelShultz Architecture, based in Orlando, Fla., promoted Charles L. Goodman, AIA, to partner. Goodman is a registered architect in 20 states and has been with the firm for 20 years.


 


Manufacturers


 


Haws Corp., a manufacturer of drinking fountains and emergency equipment based in Nevada, named Sam Sarver sales director for industrial/safety markets. He has more than 30 years of experience and most recently served as sales director for the eastern U.S.


 


Mike Murphy was promoted to president of JR Clancy Inc., a designer, manufacturer and installer of stage and studio rigging services based in Syracuse, N.Y. He previously served as executive vice president.


 


Tremco Roofing, a provider of roofing and weatherproofing products based in Beachwood, Ohio, promoted Kurt Sosinski, RRC, CDT, to director of product management. He joined the company in 1983.


 


Vince Throckmorton joined St. Louis-based Control Technology and Solutions as an account executive security specialist. He has 25 years of experience in the electronic security industry.


 


Mestek Inc., a Massachusetts-based company specializing in HVAC technologies, hired Andrew Dirats as engineering manager for the company’s HVAC and hydronic products groups.


 


Krieger Specialty Products, a manufacturer of custom doors and windows with acoustic and security enhancements based in Los Angeles, announced that Bob Carpenter, south region sales manager, was named technical consultant. He will be responsible for national sales strategies, among other duties.


 


Organizations


 


J Beattie, AIA, LEED AP, director of architecture at the Miami office of Leo A Daly, was elected co-chair for the Florida Caribbean Regional Council of the U.S. Green Building Council.


 


Stephen Friendlaender, founding principal at HMFH Architects in Cambridge, Mass., was named chair of the board of trustees of the New England Conservatory in Boston. The conservatory is the oldest independent school of music in the United States.


 


The Design-Build Institute of America named Lisa Washington, CAE, executive director following the retirement of president and CEO Lee Evey. The transition will be complete by June, according to the institute.
